Homes England is the government’s housing accelerator, and our mission is to intervene in the housing market to ensure more homes are built in areas of greatest need, and to improve affordability.
As a Government Agency, Homes England has a range of mechanisms that can assist in the delivery of new sustainable communities. We can act in places where the market is not meeting demand, where multiple developers are unable to agree on a shared approach or where the cost of up front infrastructure deters the private sector.
We have access upfront infrastructure funding to make sure the appropriate facilities are in place to support the new homeowners and the existing surrounding communities. We also improve productivity of housing projects, and maximise housing delivery.
Homes England has a track record of delivering homes and the necessary supporting infrastructure on similarly complex sites, including 10,000 homes in Northstowe in Cambridgeshire and 3,500 homes at The Northern Arc at Burgess Hill in West Sussex.
Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).
Richborough Estates was established in 2003 and is one of the UK’s most successful strategic land promotion businesses. We specialise in bringing forward land in sustainable locations to make great places to live and work.
Presently we’re working on over 100 sites nationwide with the potential to deliver 30,000 new open market and affordable homes – equivalent to 10% of the national annual housing target.
Each site is prepared together with our stakeholders – landowners, local authorities, local people and housebuilders – so we can ensure the best outcome for everybody and create much needed, quality homes and communities that leave a lasting legacy.
Our team is made up of some of the UK’s most skilled and experienced urban designers, surveyors, planners and housebuilding professionals.
Taylor Wimpey is one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, responsible for building and selling over 10,000 homes each year, with a key strategic focus on delivering high-quality and a wide variety of homes for our customers.
We are committed to engaging with key stakeholders and local communities to shape this development, so to best meet local needs and requirements. We will design a high-quality and sympathetic development which delivers social, environmental and economic benefits for South West Rugby. Working with others benefits us all and is at the heart of a successful and sustainable development for today and far into the future.
Sustainability is at the forefront of Taylor Wimpey’s ethos. Our environmental strategy, ‘Building a Better World’, is our response to the environmental crisis, setting out how we will play our part in creating a greener, healthier future for our customers and communities.
We have recently been added to the Financial Times European Climate Leaders list and achieved recognition for our work in this area through other benchmarks, indices and awards, including being the first UK developer to achieve the Carbon Standard Trust for Carbon.
Taylor Wimpey has submitted a Scoping Report for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for land between Alwyn Road and Cawston Lane which is allocated for housing development and forms part of the wider South West Rugby allocation in Rugby Borough Council’s Local Plan.
The submitted Scoping Report requests a Scoping Opinion from Rugby Borough Council to confirm the parameters of the EIA that will accompany the future planning application for this land parcel. This is the first stage of the planning application process.
Taylor Wimpey’s proposals are in the early stages of preparation and have not yet been finalised for submission to Rugby Borough Council for approval. Taylor Wimpey will engage proactively with the local community to develop their plans prior to the submission of their planning application.
